THE RIGHT RESOLVE

2011.06.04

It amazes me how fast tracked and complicated we have made our lives today.  We constantly look for answers on why we’re faced with the issues that we’re confronted with but, instead of being patient in finding the right resolve we put our efforts on the quickest fix.

We have become a society that has lost our definition of needs and wants, right and wrong.  Today we believe that everything we want is a need.  It doesn’t seem to matter if we can afford it or what stands in our way; if we want something we usually figure out a way of get it.

Some folks may think there’s nothing wrong with our society becoming this way because we work hard and deserve everything we can get.  But, just think about all the clutter in your home that just sits there or might still be in the packaging it came in and, then ask yourself was it a need or a want?  If not a need then why have or do it?

There has been a drastic decline in so many things in our society and if any of us care we need to ask why.  Unfortunately these declines are like a cancer and spread to future generations and usually get worse from generation to generation.

If we believe in God we need to have faith and trust that he’ll help us and lead us down the right path.  If we don’t pray and involve Him in all that we do we’re on our own.  It doesn’t matter how big or small the issue is God wants to here from us and needs to be involved.

I believe that the way we’re raising our children or the way society wants us to raise them has a lot to with some of our declines in society. Today it seems like many parents are trying to be more of a friend then a parent.  Many times it seems like children tell their parents what to do instead of listening and obeying.  Today sugar coating an issue to be politically correct or to make it easier seems to work better for many instead of addressing the real issue at hand.

I’m happily married with six children ranging in age from 12 to 31.  We also have three beautiful grand daughters.  Those of you with children know we have more then a handful but, we love it.  The reason for mentioning my family is because although we’re kept very busy and things can easily get out of hand it’s still the simple basic things in our lives that God teaches us with that work every time.

Spring is my favorite time of year. One of the things that I find so relaxing is gardening.  This morning I had my cup of coffee and went out to our porch to water our flowers.  Every morning I water the flowers, prune, and pinch off the retired flowers to promote new growth and healthier plants.  As we go into summer we start to see Humming birds come and feed off the nectar of our flowers.  This morning as I was going through my routine I realized that something as simple as maintaining flowers can be taken as a valuable lesson in life.

I can easily cut corners accomplishing my task in half the time but, I know if I do our flowers will not grow as nice.  By following my routine our flowers come in strong and fertile.  The more time I spend on them the more they grow and the better they are.  Any issue is addressed immediately to prevent any deterioration or failure. The healthier they are the more humming birds come which are always a delight to see.

Our lives and what we would like to accomplish in life is no different.  If we sugar coat or take the easy way out we’ll never know the true result and, others that know of our actions may and probably will copy them. If we work at accomplishing our tasks the way we should then those around us will feed on us like the humming bird feeds on nectar  Regardless of what we think is hard the more we work at it makes it easier to accomplish.

Maintaining a strong relationship with God and or families and understanding the importance of a spiritual heritage and truth will change society and put us on the right path.
